How do I know my accounts are secure?

There is nothing more important to us than your security! We work tirelessly to protect our members. Rest assured, we use the latest in advanced technology to protect your personal information. Read on for more details.

Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security feature in which more than one form of authentication is implemented to verify the legitimacy of a transaction. The goal of MFA is to create a layered defense and make it more difficult for an unauthorized person to access a member’s account information in Online Banking.

Secure Access Codes

The MFA feature requires our online banking users to supply a Secure Access Code (SAC)/Temporary Access Code (TAC) before logging in. This code is delivered via email, text or phone message using contact information attached to your account profile. The MFA process permits online banking users to register browsers or devices. On a registered browser or device, the system will no longer prompt you to enter a new SAC/TAC each time you log in. If you choose not to register your browser, you will be required to request and enter a new SAC/TAC each time you log in to online banking. Each time you log in to online banking after you have registered for MFA, it evaluates whether you are using the same computer and browser you registered with us. Online banking looks for our cookies (electronic markers) in your computer’s memory; if it doesn’t find them, we ask you to identify yourself again by providing a code that you receive by email or text. After your computer is registered, you shouldn’t need to provide a code again for that computer using that browser. (Note: Each time you use a public computer, you must provide a code as a security measure.) On rare occasions, some members can't log in to online banking without registering their computer each time – even after they have registered it already. This may mean that their computer’s browser is clearing our cookies, and our website cannot recognize the computer. If you are experiencing this, try changing the settings in your browser.

Touch ID and Facial Recognition

Touch ID uses your fingerprint as a way to log in, while Facial Recognition identifies you with a camera. These options mean you and only you can log in through this method. Touch ID or Facial Recognition can be enabled on the login screen at any time, as long as you already have login credentials. Alternatively, you enable these features under “Profile” in the main menu of the app.

Secure Messaging

You can submit secure emails to Elements within Online Banking. Because the email is delivered behind the secure login area, you know it will go directly to the intended party.

Chip Cards

Chip card technology provides an additional layer of security to help minimize data breaches. Chip card technology is a very secure method to conduct transactions and is more secure than a magnetic stripe technology. While this technology can't prevent all security breaches, a secure payment technology is an important first line of defense.

Transaction Alerts

You can set up a variety of automated account and security alerts in Online Banking to keep you informed of activity on your accounts. Examples of alerts you can set are:

  • When your balance hits or drops below a certain level
  • When an external transfer is authorized
  • When a computer or browser is successfully registered
  • When your password or login ID is changed
  • And many others

Card Control

Card Control is also an additional app available from Elements that allows you to turn your credit and debit cards off within seconds if you’re not sure where they are. You can also set controls and alerts for a variety of situations, including debit card activity, use by location, spending limits, and more.

What is Elements Financial’s routing (ABA) number?

Elements Financial’s routing number, also known as an ABA number, is 274073834. Routing numbers identify financial institutions. It's a nine-digit number that appears in the lower left corner of your checks, usually preceding your account number. Financial institutions use routing numbers to process payments electronically. Some examples of electronic payments that Elements Financial provides are bill pay, wire transfers, checking transactions (sometimes called electronic checks), and direct deposits.

If you need support to set up a direct deposit or bank wire/wire transfer, please call us at 1-800-621-2105.

What happens if I forget or lose my online banking password?

No worries, passwords are easy to reset. On the Account Log In screen, click the “Forgot Password?” link. On the next screen, enter your User ID and follow the remaining prompts to reset your password.

I’m locked out of Online Banking. What do I do?

We understand this is a frustrating experience. If you have been locked out of Online Banking you must contact us at 1-317-276-2105. For security reasons, we will lock out any member who is unsuccessful in multiple attempts to log into an account. In this case, we will need to verify that you are the one trying to access the account and will ask you to provide personal information to reset your account login information.

What browsers are suitable for use with Online Banking?

We strive to ensure Elements Online Banking works well within all the major browsers. Browser support is subject to change with little to no notice and we encourage end users to configure browsers for automatic updates.

Can I use the ATM/branch locator search feature without signing in to the app?

Yes. Click on the “Locations” link located in the bottom right of the mobile banking login screen.

I’ve used Elements online banking for the past few years and it keeps getting better! My husband and I both use the mobile check deposit feature often and love the simplicity of the app.
